Day 113: Hero Film Festival

The assignment was to first choose a city and then come up with 3 different logo's that will go with your film festival. I picked Vancouver, BC, Canada and for my film festival to have a superhero type of theme. I created variations of my 3 logos and it came down to these 3 you see above. If I just showed anyone this on its own, no one will know the explanation or know what type of message you are bringing across but I'm here to explain all that to you!

In logo 1, it seems like the letter A and H just attached to one another. Well, you are kind of right but there is much more than just that! It is the letter H with a cape attached to give it a superhero type of vibe. I went from debating the colors of the logo to finally picking out the one logo shown above.

In logo 2, I found a strong and bold font that look good and thought to myself what the hell do I do with this? My teacher came in and gave me a great idea and told me to try and disguise the font. I tried different ways to disguising my logo.

Last but not least, in logo 3 was honestly a struggle for me. I had some help the first two logos while I was left alone to figure out what I was going to do for my third logo. After hours and hours of research, I've given up and decide to maybe search up symbolism for heroism and that's where the shield comes in.

Well now to the good news. After a long discussion, I was told that majority of the class voted for .... Stay tuned after the break! Ha!Ha! just kidding! Well, the class has chosen logo #1. After everyone was told the news about their logos, the next assignment was to make a business card. After variation, hard work, and dedication I've final came down with my favorite so here it is right below. So here is another explanation to what I did with those!

The business card you see on top is the front side and the one on the bottom is the back side and/or via versa. In the top business card I added the logo in the center to give the logo itself a strong and bold look. For the background I was given the idea to put some time of a comic book feel into the background. I filled the card with full of circles to show that comic book feel as I haven't thought about that when my teacher asked me what I could have done for my business card. I kept overthinking about all the superhero related movies and thinking if I can take an element out of the movie and apply it into the business card. Enough of that

In the bottom card, the logo itself is giving the effect that it is projecting from the projector. And that is all I had to say about that. There is alot more of this project to come! So stay tune for more cool content!
